I am still floating on air from the fabulous Keel Family Function Festival in LaFayette, Georgia. Wow is all I have to say. I ran into some of my favorite Georgia people at Smokey’s place
Cherokee Farms was beautiful. Green hills and Georgia breezes. My headquarters was in my friend Tamara’s Scotty, which is a vintage travel trailer.
We had so much fun taking photos, making salad and sitting around the campfire. One highlight I had was the Songwriter’s Circle. Jeff Sipe, Ralph Rodenberry, Donna Hopkins, Jeff Mosier, Grayson Capps, Larry Keel, David Via and me all on stage together. We each had a turn playing some tunes we wrote. I did “Babies on the Lawn” and “Digga-Deep”. What a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!
The crowd was so friendly, sweet and phenomenal. I just loved them.
Also, I played with Larry Keel and Natural Bridge and what a rush that was. They are so amazing. I remember meeting Larry and Jenny 15 years ago in 1994 in Boone, North Carolina at a place called Klondike. I am so glad to be a part of their family. Hopefully we will be playing the same circuit and running into each other when we are geriatrics. Ha ha……
Paul Diaz and Treesound Studios did a fantastic job running sound and they did it all on solar wind power. So cool.
Have a fantastic Monday.
