Pass-a Grille is Paradise

I have found myself in paradise on Earth.  I am in the southern most tip of St. Pete, Florida in a place called Pass-a-Grille.  Thanks soo much Ben and Cate, Virginia and Ed for letting me stay here.

This tour has been soooo incredible on sooo many levels.  The house party at Ian and Susan’s house was amazing.   Love those people sooo much.

Also getting to play with Ben Scales for the last 3 shows has been stellar.

I only have a few more days of this tour and I just feel soooo blessed and blissed.   Thank you everyone for supporting me on this whirlwind tour.  I cannot wait to plan for the next one.

I LOVE YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My next gig is in Lakeland Tommorow night.  My Last night in Florida at Evolution Records in Lakeland, Florida at 6pm with Mr. Ben Scales.

Life on the Road

I am writing you from The Sentient Bean in Savannah, Georgia.  I feel like I am on  Cloud 9 and angels are surrounding me on this solo tour.  Charleston, SC was amazing.  The Awendaw Green Folks were such gracious hosts.  The Barn Jam on Wednesday night was off the hook.  All the folks there were sooo nice and the musicians were amazing.  I played in between the sets.  So, after the gig I went and stayed at my friend Noodle and Eden’s house and realized that I forgot my fiddle backstage at the Barn Jam.  Too funny.  I NEED A ROAD MANAGER….  Ha ha.  This fiddle girl, just needs to tighten it up a bit.  Luckily, Noodle drove me the 36 mile round trip to retrieve my fiddle.

Resting after a picnic

Thursday I spent the whole day on the beach doing yoga and playing a concert for the Seagulls.  It was sunny and windy as heck.  Gotta love it.  I just bundled up in my blanket and put my toes in the sand.   Later that day I had a picnic.  I am extremely addicted and obsessed with picnics.   I look forward to the occasions of dining outside with my blankie and my delicious treats.

Zesty orange picnic deliciuosness

The Hippodrome Concert that the Awendaw Folks put on was incredible.   It was held at the Imax theatre right next to the South Carolina aquarium.  BMW designed the turquoise theatre seats at 1500 dollars(someone told me this) a pop.   It was a singer/songwriter in the round thingy that included myself with Danielle Howle, Bret Mosley and Carey Murdoc.   These are my new friends.  Also, Noodle and Eden’s band the V-Tones, rocked my face off.  They had swing dancers and LED Light hula hoopers on stage.  It was awesome.   I have to say I really got stage fright this night, but I loved the challenge. It was just me, performing from my soul and heart to a huge venue, no band was backing me up.  Just me, myself and my ukulele…….    There has been soooo much support from all the people that I have come across on my pathway.

After the show I got to stay in the most luxurious pad.  Thanks sweet Amanda and Tasha.  You rule….. I was able to regroup and get a good nights rest and I cleaned my tour vehicle out.

This has been tooo much fun.   I do have to admit though that its a bit lonely and hard to do by myself, but I am loving life and living every single day to the fullest.  I am finding my bliss.   So I leave this with you…………………   Find your Bliss………..

Halloween Lusciousness

My friend Cate is prepared for the Halloween season, Trick or Treat corridor

Tis the season for orange pumpkins, yellow mums, fall leaves, hustle and bustle of gathering costumes and cheap candy.  Yes folks, Halloween is upon us.  It’s one last hoorah before the Winter really starts kicking in.  The colors have been outstanding this year.

Halloween colors rock.

So, tomorrow is gonna be busy for me, but its really just how I normally roll on Saturdays.   Gonna head to the Farmers Market and grab some beets and lettuce and a cup of coffee.  In addition, grab some breakfast.  Then I am gonna head to a noon hot flow yoga class at the Asheville Community Yoga Center.  In the evening I have 2 gigs.  The first one is at the Inn on Montford and then I drive to Morganton, NC for a gig with Snake Oil Medicine Show at the Catawba Brewing Company.   Its the 4th Annual Boo and Brew.   I got my costume ready to go.

Part of my Halloween costume. I gotta paint my piggies tonite.

Have a fantastic colorful sweet Halloween.   Love,  Caroline

Road to Tahoe

So, this song that you are about to view is a song I wrote 7 years ago.  Back in 2004, I was in the Snake Oil van riding in the van from the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, California to Lake Tahoe, where we had a gig.  That is when I gave birth to this song and we are still playing it today.  Very cool.  This is from last weekends performance at Tree Sound Studios.

Music for Dos Dias

Get to go on a music sojourney for a couple of days.  Headin to Montreat, North Carolina with the Tater Diggers to a conference called Serfa (Southeast Region Folk Alliance).  Then I hang with Snake Oil Friday and Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia at Tree Sound Studios.  Here we go.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Pre Halloween Blues

THis home girl is sooooo busy I cannot even see straight.  I have a gig in a few short hours at The Grey Eagle in Asheville with Snake Oil, Sol Driven Train and Now You See Them, and its a costume party and I have nooooo idea what to wear.

I have been so busy lately that I am getting stressed, nervous and exhausted, but this sweet video of backstage Snake Oil gang makes me smile and helps me to continue on my path.  To be a human to feel all the feelings up the ups and downs.  Life is fascinating for sure.

Warm Fuzzy Fall

Good morning my beautiful friends.  Its Tuesday morning and I just went outside and its warm and windy and so many of the yellow and orange leaves are on the ground.  I could barely see my yellow dog running around on the grass, he was camoflauged with the yellow leaves.   Too silly.  I hope that your Fall is just beautiful.  It warms my heart.

Dance Tent Joy

Good morning everyone.  Snake Oil Medicine Show had a wonderful time at Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival in Silk Hope, NC.  We got to play the dance tent 2 days in a row and it was so marvelous.  So many fun dancers on both days.  Thanks for all the dancers.

The weather was so divine.  I love the Snake Oil boys sooo much, we picked around our campsite and they gave lessons on guitar to Captain Adventure. That was cool.

Bouncing around with a 6 pack of friends late Saturday night, checking out music was a blast.   Brian Makepeace, Jan Brady, Justyn, Erin, Beth and me.  That was a hoot and a half.

I am still excited about how much fun we had.

Have a great week yall.

23 Day of March

This has been such a weird Spring so far.  First day of Spring was sunny and gorgeous the second day of Spring we had a Wintry mix.  But you know what, I will take it.  All the ups and downs, deal em’ to me.  That’s what makes us human.  ”We are only Human”, is a song that I am writing right now.  Will share it later.   Spring is just like it, ups and downs.  In like a lion and out like a lamb.

So, today is 23rd day of March.  Its bright and sunny and its Justyn’s birthday.  We are celebrating it at MoDaddy’s tonight in downtown Asheville, North Carolina with a live FREE show with Snake Oil Medicine Show.  I am pretty excited about it.  I just finished making some baked tofu and some Indian Spinach Korma with veggies and rice.  Now, off to take a shower and get ready for the BIG Show.

Justyn Thompson

Happy Birthday Justyn Thompson.  You rock boy.

Happy Halloween

I am excited because on Halloween we are going to be playing with Sol Driven Train in West Asheville at The Rocket Club.  We have some fun surprises and some combinations that we are going to perform with a huge big band, combining the two groups.  Yahoo.  I am awaiting my vintage band jacket to come into the mail.  I won it on ebay and I am so thrilled to be a marching band girl.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE AND BE SAFE
