Pass-a Grille is Paradise

I have found myself in paradise on Earth.  I am in the southern most tip of St. Pete, Florida in a place called Pass-a-Grille.  Thanks soo much Ben and Cate, Virginia and Ed for letting me stay here.

This tour has been soooo incredible on sooo many levels.  The house party at Ian and Susan’s house was amazing.   Love those people sooo much.

Also getting to play with Ben Scales for the last 3 shows has been stellar.

I only have a few more days of this tour and I just feel soooo blessed and blissed.   Thank you everyone for supporting me on this whirlwind tour.  I cannot wait to plan for the next one.

My next gig is in Lakeland Tommorow night.  My Last night in Florida at Evolution Records in Lakeland, Florida at 6pm with Mr. Ben Scales.

Halloween Lusciousness

My friend Cate is prepared for the Halloween season, Trick or Treat corridor

Tis the season for orange pumpkins, yellow mums, fall leaves, hustle and bustle of gathering costumes and cheap candy.  Yes folks, Halloween is upon us.  It’s one last hoorah before the Winter really starts kicking in.  The colors have been outstanding this year.

Halloween colors rock.

So, tomorrow is gonna be busy for me, but its really just how I normally roll on Saturdays.   Gonna head to the Farmers Market and grab some beets and lettuce and a cup of coffee.  In addition, grab some breakfast.  Then I am gonna head to a noon hot flow yoga class at the Asheville Community Yoga Center.  In the evening I have 2 gigs.  The first one is at the Inn on Montford and then I drive to Morganton, NC for a gig with Snake Oil Medicine Show at the Catawba Brewing Company.   Its the 4th Annual Boo and Brew.   I got my costume ready to go.

Part of my Halloween costume. I gotta paint my piggies tonite.

Have a fantastic colorful sweet Halloween.   Love,  Caroline

Welcome to the Sunny State

Dear Blog Readers,                                    Friday December 18, 2009

I am writing to you from Jacksonville, Florida on the 18th of December at 5:15pm and I feel so blessed to be hanging by the St. John’s River in the sun with the palm trees blowing in the wind.  My mountain home apparently is underneath 7-8 inches of snow.  I skirted out of Asheville in the knick of time.  I left yesterday afternoon and went straight to my parents house in the south and did not see one snow flake.  I woke this morning in South Georgia to torrential downpours, so I decided to stay cozy in my bed and drink coffee with my mom.  Around noon, I left to go down to Florida and it was a rainy rainy drive all the way til I crossed the Florida state line, where I saw a sign welcoming me to the Sunny State.

So in the sunny state of Florida I am blissed out in a sunny state of mind, sippin coffee by the St. John’s River about to meet up with some friends.  The daylight hours are melting into the evening twilight where a group of us are going to get together to have dinner and we are going to celebrate my friend Brenda’s 60th bday.  Brenda is super duper special to me.  Her last name is Star Walker and she stands up to that name.  She turned me on to yoga 10 years ago.  So I love her tremendously.  I will probably crash in her yoga studio tonite.  She has no idea that I am going to be here tonight, so I am excited about surprising her.

I love to document so I will keep doing that.  Talk to you later.

Love,

Caroline Pond

Busy Fiddle Girl

Phewww, no time to rest for this girl, even though I am craving some respite.  I have barely stopped.  Between gigs, practices, studio time and radio shows, I have been running around like a chicken with her head cut off.  But, that’s the life of a musician.  I wish that I could do this full time and be financially stable.  That is my hope for 2010.  Let’s see what happens.  I have got to get my goals organized for 2010.

I leave in the morning to head to Florida.  So, I will post stories about my trip while I am on the road.

P.S.  I will be in Park City and Salt Lake City Utah, January 2-7th.  If you know of a coffee shop, radio show, pub, living room or party, that I can play my fiddle and uke at, let me know.

Peace xoxoxooxox

Plantation Pictures

Some of my favorite pics that we took from the Plantation in South Carolina from Turkey Day,  are all here for your viewing pleasure.  Pictures can tell a thousand words.

Awww, the Spanish Moss

We really had a wonderful sunny time, walking around in the woods and going on hayrides and I played my fiddle for the family.

Life can be so adventurous, especially around Holiday Times.

Shakori Hills Shake Yer Bootie

I had a tremendous blast at Grassroots Shakori this weekend.  I got there just in time to hang with my wonderful friend Ami Worthen.  She and Jason Krekel were heading up a Ukulele Support Group and I got to sing along on Ukulele Girls.  What a blast.

I enjoyed so much Zydeco dancing and hopping around with friends.  Also, I got to enjoy minestrone soup with the Two Gentlemen Band.  I was overjoyed at how many ladies were representing their talents this year at the festival.  Ruthy and Mike, Mad Tea Party, Donna The Buffalo, Christobel and the Jons and Miss Tess and the Bon Bon Parade.  All these bands had talented amazing women fronting their bands and I just dug that to the max.

Other great news is that Apple is going to fix my computer.  So, I will be able to get photos back up on here more often and be a bloggin fool again. Yey.   I am in love with Apple again.  I just bypassed The Apple Care Customer Service and went to the Customer Service Representative directly and they helped me out soooo much.

I’m gonna put you on my coffee cup

I am loving my Fall, its crisp and luscious with blue skies.  Sure hope you are as well.  I am just enjoying a cup of coffee underneath it all.  I just want to put you on my coffee cup and tell you about it.  I have been busy working and trying to get more gigs.  Going on the road again would bring joy into my heart.  I feel like I need to spread my gift to the people.  I have been planning and just reorganizing my life a bit and I am having fun doing it.  Just putting it out in the universe that all the hopes and dreams that I desire will be presented when its time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog it means so much to me.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Sunny October Skies

Happy Saturday everyone.  I have had a crazy week.  I moved from my sweet apartment into a home and so I have been busy settling in.  caro ukeAlso, I had some gal pals from Jacksonville, Florida come visit me.  Now its time for me to get ready to go to Charlotte with the Pond Farm Pickers to do a gig.  George Pond has a birthday today and he really wanted to do a gig, so off we go.

The last few nights have been cold for me in Asheville.  I have fallen asleep with a ski cap on and a sweater.  Burr bunnies.

Have a great weekend folks and I will post later.

Much Love and Laughter this weekend.
