Entries from July 2009
Another beautiful Friday. I am packing up, doing laundry, organizing, sippin on some joe and getting ready for my week long beach trip. So excited. This summer I have been on the go. It has been a fun summer and I am so happy about it. Speaking of being really happy.

heading out of town
I have been following my bliss lately and I am doing really good right now. But it breaks my heart in two when my loved ones and my friends are going through sad and challenging times. I have been there and I know how it feels. I want to be their support team because they have been there for me through thick and through thin. I know that I go through my ups and downs and I thank God that I have such an amazing support team. My friends and my family, I could not do this without you.

I love hanging my clothes out to dry in the sunshine
We are all in one team, working this all out together. I will be strong for you and be your rock, because I know that is what you do for me. My heart is going out to my peeps. I am here for you.

One of my favorite things to do while I am at a festival, is to play my fiddle with other people at their campsites. While at Grassroots this past weekend up in New York, I got to play with an amazing 12 year old guitar player named Aidan. He was awesome. Here are some of the photos from that. Much Love everyone.

Folks, I had soooo much fun that I can barely describe it. Hangin’ in Upstate, New York with some fun friends listening to awesome music, camping and zydeco dancing my butt off. What’s a girl suppose to do.
Some music highlights for me was hearing Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, that sister had some soul. Also I dug cello rocker Hank Roberts, The Makepeace Brothers, Donna the Buffalo and love me some Toots and The Maytals. Keith Frank of course is my Zydeco hero. Also, this 20 piece African band, Oumou Sangare, that Bela Fleck got up on stage with rocked my socks off.

I am having way too much fun in the dance tent
Zydeco dance parties til the break of dawn just had me spinning with joy. So, now its Tuesday and I am just finally recouping and getting it together. I am in Asheville for four days then I hit the beach. Hilton Head with some family. Summer is rockin my world right now. Hope yours is too.

Hey y’all! Caroline’s lil’ sis here, doing what little sister do; borrowing her stuff (Her blog in this case).
Let me take you back to the 80’s. The days when the sounds of Duran Duran were Carolines music of choice. No Doy; Like they were totally Awesome!
As far back as I can remember (the 80’s) Caroline was an avid photography. Two of her favorite subjects were her little brother (Jed) and little sister (me). She loved posing or dressing us up in the coolest teenage fashions of the day
Here are a couple of photos of Jed & I from Caroline Ponds portfolio…

I am such a lucky girl. Today I visited the sweetest, nicest artist lady and her name is Bee.

Bee a fine artiste
She is so supportive and amazing. Bee set me up an easel and I brought my canvas and worked on my painting. Her studio is at the Wedge down in the River Arts District. It has so much light and she is so positive. Bee is such a great role model. She had her friends up there in the studio painting with her and we just had a blast.

This summer has been so marvelous, that I have been having way too much fun to write all my adventures, but I will get to them eventually. I feel so blessed that I am having an awesome summer so far.

Someone just twittered this and it really resonates with me, “Everything in my life-every experience, every relationship-is a mirror of the mental pattern that is going on inside of me.”
I really really love this affirmation. Hope your 4th of July was festive and that your summer is all that you want it to be. I wish for you to make everyday the best day ever. Follow your bliss.
From your fiddle playin’ friend,
Caroline

What a blast we had at Bob 7’s home/studio. Joe Craven is an amazing fiddle and percussionist guy and he is so my super hero. He did a show out at Bob 7’s last night and he did many standard old time tunes, a Michael Jackson Cover, “Man in the Mirror” and a rap. Barbara Lamb, another fiddle woman got up on stage with him as well. Somehow, some music buddies and I got up on stage with him for a few songs. That was so much fun. What a great summer so far.

My sissy Jane just sent me a pic over on FaceBook of us in matching swimsuits. We look like we are three legged sisters attached at the hip. Too funny. This is her home in Palm Springs, California. I just can’t wait to visit her again. Actually, its 120 degrees there. I will wait til Fall when its cooled down a bit.

Caroline and Jane bathing suit twins.
Happy Summer Adventures Y’all!!!!!!!!
