Have a marvelous weekend everyone. Watch out for your loved ones and live your days out to the fullest. Follow your bliss baby. We have been through some sad losses this week. I can’t believe Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett and Ed McMahon have left this earth. They will be missed as they were huge iconic figures. With all this sadness of loss, we have to try and be gentle with each other and tell our friends and family that we love them.
I am writing this to you with a sad and heavy heart. I have lost 2 wonderful, amazing, influential men in my life, my Uncle John Uhl and my friend Tim Krekel. They both passed away this month due to cancer. Cancer sucks and it breaks my heart in two that it takes over people’s bodies. I know we can’t choose when we leave and we are here for a reason to learn lessons and to teach others. But, I can’t help to feel so so blue and sad about this. These men will be missed so much. They are bigger than life now and I just want to celebrate their gifts that they gave while they were here on Earth.
My Uncle John, I have known my whole life. He was such a sweetheart, nice guy, funny, loved to read and play golf. An awesome family man, that we will miss so much. My family beach trip to Hilton Head this year won’t be the same without him. I just love my family so much and am so grateful that I get blessed with the time I share with my loved ones. I will always remember My Uncle John, being so cool and playing old jazz tunes and showtunes in the living room on his piano. I loved going to see Cincinatti Reds with him and seeing John Pizzarelli in concert with him.
Tim Krekel, who is my wonderful friend, Jason Krekel’s Dad from The Mad Tea Party will be so missed. He was such an amazing musical and spiritual leader. I will always remember our Maine trips together and writing songs together and laughing and playing music together. ”Louisville and the music industry lost a great musician, songwriter, and singer today. He wrote songs for Ricky Nelson, Jerry Reed, Crystal Gayle, Patty Loveless, and many, many more. Jimmy Buffett once asked about getting a guitarist and Mr. Guitar himself, Chet Atkins, referred Tim right on the spot that same moment.”-fredalan
Oh my gosh this is one of my favorite videos that I have ever seen. My friend Delphine found it and sent me the link. She insisted that I drop everything and view it. Oh my goodness, I am so glad I did. What an inspiration. You must watch these ladies sing and dance and do some crazy acrobatics that look like they are from another planet. I was laughing my butt off and enjoyed every moment of these talented ladies. Check it out Yo!!!
Whaddup peeps? This is where it all begins. Red, white and blue color combinations, parades, fireworks, lake swimming, river dunking, beach trippin and lazing around in a hammock. Summer is my fave of all the seasons and I am damn excited about it. Whoop whoop. Yee Haw. I can’t wait to see what Summer chapters unfold in front of me. Schools out, but I think this is the time when the kids do most of their learning.
Ok I am talking jibberish right now, I have not even had my first cup of coffee. Hope you have a great Summery day. Stay tuned and much “summer lovin’ and having a blast” to you folks.
A couple of months ago I emceed the French Broad River Festival in Hot Springs, North Carolina. At that festival, Snake Oil Medicine Show played there and we had such a stellar time. I met so many nice folks there and announced all the sponsors from stage. In addition to all the great sponsors of the fest , I met the nice brothers of Eagles Nest Outfitters. The brothers are Paul and Pete Pinholster and they were super duper nice and they gave me a hammock that I absolutlely adore immensely. I brought it with me last month when I was on tour with Snake Oil to Michigan and New York. This hammock provided the respite that I or a fellow bandmate needed in between sets. The hammock is super duper easy to put up. It comes with a carabeener system that is so smart. I am going to carry this with me on all my travels. I highly recommend an Eagles Nest Outfitters Hammock. Check out their website to get yourself one. Cheers.
“This is my favorite light of the day it shines upon your face, let me take a picture of you under these skies I wish that you could stay” These are lyrics to a song that I wrote in Lake Tahoe called Golden Hour
I video recorded just a snippet of this for you tonight, I promise I will do the whole song later but this is what I felt like doing at the present moment. Find your golden hour folks.
I get asked this question all the time , “How is your love life?”………..This is how I respond. I love my life….. And that is how that goes. Not to beat around the bush or be aloof but thats how it goes right now. ha ha. It’s Sunday Morning and its coffee time just chillin by myself. I have been extremely busy with Snake Oil and work and it has been a great run so far. Stay tuned.
I have been home 4 days now from my long tour with Snake Oil Medicine Show and I have been busting a move on burning the tour pounds and rejuvenating my organs. Sitting in the van for long drives and eating chips and dark chocolate made me decide to bust a move when I got home and dang it I have been rocking it. I feel good. Smoothies every morning and working out like a champ is my routine. I recently discovered chia seeds and I have been putting them in my green smoothies in the morning and that is giving me so much stamina in my work outs. Gives me the extra natural kick that I need. Chis seeds are amazing stuff.
I am in love with smoothies and chia seeds

OUR Fest which stands for Outrageous Universe Revival was held in Sherman, New York outside Lake Erie. It was the bakers dozen for this festival, numero 13 and its held every year at the Brushwood Folklore Center. When festivals aren’t in session its a nudist colony. So many times through the weekend I spotted a nude in the woods. Too funny. My BFF Heather was with me on this trip and we had a blast. Hottubbing, hanging with Maury the festival organizer and founder of Hypnotic Clambake. We hung with the Stews, Buddahood boys, Emil Nomel, Anna and Andy and the Snakes. Its so hard to tell you what all we did, so I am just going to post a fair amount of photos. I love this fest and its people soooo much and had a blast and a half.
