I am Back on my Feed and I dig Marilyn Monroe

Today was lovely.  I got so much accomplished and finally got back on my feed.  When I travel, I tend to overeat, over indulge in adult beverages and relax my butt off.  Although its great for stress release to relax, its not good for my bloating belly.  I just get off track or as George Pond says, “I am off my feed.”  So today, I drank a carrot, apple ginger juice.  I ate beets for lunch and for dinner and plan on eating a kale salad and green smoothie for tomorrow’s meals. 

 I worked out at the YMCA today and went to work this evening.  After work I came home and tidied up my digs.  So my place feels clean.  I unpacked my suitcase and did laundry and I watched a delicious Marilyn Monroe movie called The Seven Year Itch.

This woman was adorable.  I love how Marilyn loved eating potato chips and sipping on champagne while wearing a cute little evening dress in the heat of a New York summer.  This is my kind of girl.  There is something so festive about sipping on some champagne with all its glorious bubbles.

Ahhh I love being home and regrouping.  Now the rest of the week is for busting a move to make some moolah so I can catch up on bills.  Also I am heading to North Georgia to do a festival with Larry Keel this weekend in LaFayette, Georgia.  It is called the Keel Family Function Festival.  Should be fun.

I Have Returned Home from the Rockies

I am officially home from my long journey.  From the blizzards of Colorado to the rains of Georgia I am officially back home in Asheville.  I had a lovely time while I was away but I felt stifled on the creative level.  I have learned that I need to bring my mac with me on these trips so I can blog.    I terribly missed you while I was away.   At least, I did bring my violin and ukulele with me to create and play music.  Also, I have a brand new Canon XTI Rebel camera that takes fabulous pictures that I practiced on while I was in the wild west.  

What I did in the Rockies

Six days of continuos snow

Skiing on white powder and sitting in hot tubs

Sippin martinis, staying warm in Jazz clubs

Playing Black Jack in a historical casino

Did great at first and then saw my money go

1. Do you like blue cheese?   Yes, sprinkled into a salad.  And also my mom and Aunt Marcy make an awesome blue cheese dip that is delicious with pretzels.  Yummy.

2. Have you ever smoked? One menthol in college and it gave me a headache and so I gave it up. 

3. Do you own a gun? No, I cannot stand guns they are not for me.

4. What flavor of Kool-Aid was/is your favorite?   Grape

5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments? YES. 

6. What do you think of hot dogs?   Veggie Hot Dogs are my fave…

10. Favorite piece of jewelry? Glass blue earrings that my friend Delphine gave me for my bday.

13. What is one trait you hate about yourself?  I wish I had better eyesight and thicker hair.

14. Middle name? Alton.  This is my Dad’s middle name and my Grandads and my great Grandads middle name.

21. Where would you like to go? Dubai would be kinda cool to check out, but I really want to check out a ton of places.  I love to travel.

23. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? Nah, they are too slippery, I dig clean cotton sheets.  Ahhhh..

24. Can you whistle? absolutely.

25. Favorite color? I love colors, but I resonate towards pinks, yellows, oranges and blues.  

26. Would you be a pirate? If I could hang out with Johnny Depp I would.

29. What’s in your pocket right now? one quarter.

30. Last thing that made you laugh? Reading Jason Mraz’s blog about a Spud Mackenzie tee shirt. 

31. What vehicle do you drive? ‘2000 White Honda CRV.  

32. Worst injury you have ever had? When my ear got sliced off by a rusty barb wired fence.  OUch.  

33. Do you love where you live? YES! Asheville rocks.

34. How many TV’s do you have in your house? None… Thank goodness.

35. Do you have any pets? Yes, I have orange cats that are spread around town.  Tsali lives at K’s house and Yellowman lives at P’s house.

Breckenridge Bound

My lovely folks, I am off on a jet plane tomorrow.  One more bout of Winter time activity before Spring is upon us.  I am off on a ski vacay to Breckenridge, Colorado.  Hope that you have a lovely week.  I will try and write while I am out there, but if not, see you soon.

Blooish Purple Smoothie

I am addicted to SMOOTHIES.  Someone help me.  Ha ha just kidding.  This is great stuff.

This morning I shoved these ingredients in a blender and voila what a delicious Monday morning I am having.

• one banana
• two handfuls of spinach
• one handful of blueberries
• a scoop of green powder
• half cup water

A Saturday Evening Post

How is everybody’s weekend????  It is a gray, dreery and rainy afternoon here in Asheville.  I have to head into work real soon.  I am just reading a book called, Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson.  Also, sippin on some coffee and playing on my uke a bit.

Full Worm Moon Bliss

I am loving this beautiful happy day.  I have to work in a few hours but I have made my morning a vacation.  I woke up leisurely around 9:30ish, made some coffee for my roomie Audrey and I.  Then I made us girls a delicious green smoothie, with a banana, a green apple, a couple of handfuls of spinach and frozen mango chunks. I am hooked on these live enzymes and how I feel as this smoothie courses through my body.  

I sat in the sun with my floppy hat on and just sipped on my green smoothie and read a raw foods book.  Now I am listening to Pandora Radio on the Annette  Hanshaw Radio Station.  Ladies from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s just sing blissfully from the old ages.  Beautiful vintage style singin’.  I just love it.  

For lunch I had a spinach salad with avocado and roasted sweet potatoes and beets.

Just a nice simple easy morning for me before heading to work.  Vacation on a work day.  Hopefully when you are done working you can make yourself have a nice vacation.  Everyday should be bliss.  

I am so grateful for the blessings in my life.

We are now in the full worm moon.  A lady that I shared an elevator ride with yesterday, told me something so sweet.  ”The moon that is in the sky tonight is the moon that is going to carry us into Spring.”  How Lovely.  Have a blissful day and evening.  Even if something doesn’t go your way, feel the feeling and then try to move on because it’s your natural born right to be happy.
